The bus station is a part of the Kenzo Tange design for a new transport center in Skopje - made after the earthquake in 1963. The detailed design envisages 25 platforms for domestic and international traffic as well as an area for local traffic. The traffic will be one way, entering from the boulevard Kuzman Josifovski Pitu and exiting on the Nikola Karev Street . The bus station and the railway station become an integral entity, since they are intimately connected by their longitudinal side. The structure of the bus station is located under the railway platforms. There are two customer entrances and one exit to the platforms, with a total surface area of 2.670,00 m2. The architecture and aesthetics of the structure is consistent with the previously applied principles for the existing structure, which provides continuity of the idea for the creation of the Transport Centre Complex. |
